Hi, I’m Cheryl Wilson. For nearly 20 years, I’ve been immersed in the association industry. Starting as a marketing manager at SmithBucklin, the world’s largest association management company, I serviced more than 10 associations during my tenure. I eventually made my way to a stand alone association, where I was director of marketing and communications for five years.
If it’s related to MarCom or membership growth, I’ve seen it and done it. I love the challenge of finding the right words and strategies that will get results. I’ve written and edited copy for websites, marketing collateral, e-mails, newsletters, magazines, white papers, blogs and social media. I also love to deconstruct an event, process or project into easier-to-accomplish tactics and deliverables. You can say I’m a bit of a project management nerd. Details and accountability are good things.
After having a baby, I wanted the best of both worlds: to spend time with my daughter and to help associations and small businesses communicate more effectively. Cheryl Wilson Marketing lets me do just that. Today, I have two fun-loving, high-energy children, a very supportive husband and a thriving business.
I was selected as an inaugural “Forty Under 40®” award recipient by the Association Forum of Chicagoland and USAE in September 2013.
